All over the world, HR management has faced and continues to face the greatest challenges of the 21st century; in fact, the way many companies or even entire industries work has had to be rethought from one day to the next. The consequences of the last few months of crisis are unmistakable: In companies from sectors hit the hardest, such as the airline industry, short-time work, layoffs and cost-cutting were at the top of the agenda. Others, such as the healthcare sector, the pharmaceutical industry or the telecommunications industry, became round-the-clock service providers of systemically relevant tasks.
